Miss Liberia Pageant Goes Digital: Embracing Innovation for Fairness and Transparency.

XL Entertainment Inc., the host of the upcoming Miss Liberia 2022 Beauty Pageant, has forged a groundbreaking partnership with MWETANA Consulting & Technology Group, an Information Technology Company. Under this collaboration, MWETANA Consulting & Technology Group will serve as the Title sponsor of the pageant and the lead Technology Partner.

One of the major highlights of this partnership is the digitization of the voting processes for the Miss Liberia pageant, marking a significant milestone in the pageant’s history. For the first time ever, the entire voting process, including public and judges’ voting, will be conducted digitally. This initiative includes the launch of a dedicated Miss Liberia app, available for download on Google Play and Apple App stores, allowing pageant enthusiasts from around the world to participate in the voting process, access real-time news updates, and track voting statistics.

Established in 1962 and overseen by the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism (MICAT), the Miss Liberia pageant holds great cultural significance, providing a platform for young Liberian women from all 15 political subdivisions to compete for the prestigious title. Traditionally, the winner represents Liberia at the Miss World beauty pageant.

Following approval from MICAT, XL Entertainment was granted the license to host the 25th edition of the Miss Liberia Beauty Pageant. At the signing ceremony held at the Boulevard Palace Hotel in Monrovia in April 2020, Mr. Zubin Cooper, the Chief Executive Officer of XL Entertainment, emphasized the importance of incorporating technology and innovation into the pageant. He highlighted the role of technology in enhancing transparency and public participation in the selection process.

Mr. Vivien Charles Jones, the Chief Executive Officer of MWETANA Consulting & Technology Group, expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to be part of this year’s Miss Liberia Beauty Pageant, particularly with the introduction of technology. He emphasized the company’s commitment to using technology to ensure fairness and transparency in the competition.

The introduction of technology in the voting process received positive feedback from contestants, with many expressing optimism about its potential to enhance fairness and transparency. XL Entertainment and MWETANA Consulting & Technology Group are not only focused on revolutionizing the Miss Liberia pageant but also on setting a new standard for beauty pageants and competitions in Liberia, ushering in a new era of digital innovation and integrity.
