Liberia Reiterates Backing for Morocco’s Sahara Sovereignty.

In a recent meeting held in Rabat, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Liberian Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti convened to discuss bilateral matters. During the deliberations, the Republic of Liberia reiterated its unwavering support for Morocco’s territorial integrity, including its claim over the Moroccan Sahara.

A joint statement issued after the meeting underscored Liberia’s endorsement of Morocco’s 2007 autonomy proposal for the disputed region. This declaration signifies Liberia’s steadfast stance in favor of Morocco’s sovereignty.

In response, Minister Bourita expressed gratitude for Liberia’s consistent support, particularly highlighting significant gestures such as the establishment of a Liberian Consulate General in Dakhla in 2020.

He also noted Liberia’s active participation in a pivotal conference jointly hosted by Morocco and the United States in 2021, further affirming the depth of bilateral relations between the two nations.
